What can/can’t I bring to the event?
Please do not bring any food containing wheat, gluten, dairy, soy, nuts, peanuts, egg, seafood or sesame as there will be people present with allergies and intolerances. If you’re unsure, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to answer any questions.
Can I bring my child/children?
Absolutely! We’d love for you to bring the people you care about and enjoy a wonderful afternoon together. We ask that children be supervised at all times as there is a fireplace and stairs within the building. There will be a limited number of high chairs available, if you require one , please state at the time of booking. A special child ticket is available for children under 6 for the price of $15 (plus booking fees). This will include 2 finger sandwiches, a scone, a cupcake and a tea or juice.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
If you have any questions or concerns, I would love for you to contact me via email at email@example.com. Thank you!
What do you mean by “free from”?
I endevour to create food that is safe for the most number of people. This means none of the top 8 allergens or gluten are listed as ingredients in any of the recipes. Originally I thought there would be traces of allergens in some of the cooking due to difficulty finding suitable ingredients, however, I have been able to source some top 8 allergen free flours from Lisa at Happy Tummies as well as chocolate with will just have traces of soy (Sweet William dark chocolate)! Yippee!! I will be using the kitchen at Glenella to prepare all the food but no other food will be prepared at the same time to eliminate as much risk of cross contamination as possible. If you want to know more or ask any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to find a solution to meet your needs.
What’s your experience with allergies?
I have two children both with multiple food allergies and intolerances. My 3 year old daughter is allergic to sesame, hazelnut, pecan and seafood as well as previsouly being allergic to egg as well. My son is awaiting testing but has reacted to nuts and is intolerant to wheat and dairy. This complex mix of needs has seen our family become very allergy friendly and we are now nut free, wheat free, dairy free, sesame free and seafood free. I have breastfed both kids which means I have had to follow a restricted diet for the past 3 years.
I can’t make the event but would love to make a donation. Where can I do that?
I would love for you to help by making a donation towards the amazing work of Hamlin Fistula Hospital by heading to this link https://highteaforhamlin.gofundraise.com.au/page/PeaFritters
Terribly sorry but no. There will be Coco Quench (a coconut and rice milk blend) or rice milk available. The teas available are delicious on their own and don’t necessarily need any milk in them.
What should I bring with me?
Your wonderful self! And some cash on the day to join in with the raffle! I have some wonderful allergy-friendly prizes up for grabs. Otherwise just put on your Sunday best and come join us! (Though if you do have severe reactions that may require the use of an epi-pen or a ventolin puffer, then please bring that with you).
